I may be trading a rig for a 89 D50 4x.. it stutters like crazy when taking off in first, once your up to speed it runs fine,, oh and it runs fine in reverse,, no stuttering??? any ideas what may be causing this? if it sounds like a major fix than i dont want the truck.. any help would be great!

welcome to the site. Not familiar with the 4wd models, or carbs but any help is better then none. Only thing I can think of is check all fluids and check engine vac to find engine life, and spark plugs and wires. if a spark plug wire arcs or spark plus fouled will lead to an ignition miss.
