How about has anyone done this swap? Lol.

Just trying to put together a parts list most of the lists i've seen online conflict.

So far have complete 4g63T Head from a 95 eclipse GST.

Going to get 2g intake and exhaust manifolds, turbo fuel rail and 4g63 water pump. Stock turbo 450cc injectors.

What else?

ECU and wiring harness. And custom make that intake manifold so the TB faces forward.
Black and red, ghost flames, dropped and awaiting wheels.

Anyone completed this swap? Just 4g63T head on a 4g64 sohc block. Which head gasket did you use?

I tried the Mitsubishi Metal Multi-layer head gasket for the 4g63t 2.0l, it’s not the factory head gasket but a replacement designed to run higher boost. Of course, this gasket does not come up in (CAPS) “dealership parts program” when you look up that engine at the dealership you have to know the part number or have a parts guy that has seen it before. I am sorry I don’t remember the number I am going to find a picture of it if that helps. I was trying to use it on my 4g64 sohc 8v turbo build when I received it, the holes did not line up now I can’t remember if it was the head or the block that the holes didn’t line up but in the end I tried to cut holes in it for the oil and coolant passages and it didn’t work $100 down the drain. Now I did have a 4g63 non-turbo head in the garage at the time and it lined up perfectly. The problem with cutting/drilling the metal multi-layer head gasket is obvious it leaves it jagged. The solution would be to punch out the holes needed with a punch press to make nice clean holes in retrospect I could have tried that all over again but I just used the stock head gasket for a 4g64 2.4L and ARP head studs to keep it in place, it worked fine.

Yeah was going to go with OEM composite 4g64 and arp studs did you use the 1994 galant Gs 4g64 dohc head gasket or the one for the 8 valve?

I am sorry I didn't do a head swap I turbocharged my stock 4g64! sohc 8v I made my own exhaust manifold and got a reliable daily driver/track star.
I bought the whole gasket kit from Mitsubishi for the 4g64 sohc 8v years ago for $120 Can. The head gasket alone is $75 Can. So it’s way worth the extra to do the bottom end front and rear main seals. You have to pull the motor anyway to install the aftermarket pistons to clear the 16 valve head and a stage 3 clutch. If you have gone that far, and spent that kind of money, you should get the crank polished and new mains and rod bearings. If you're keeping the stock rods, then put (minimum) ARP rod and main studs if you go aftermarket for rods they aready come with these studs. Remove the balance shafts read my two posts on turbocharging the 4g64. There is stuff you can use for the head swap ask questions anytime and don't spend your money twice(dumb mistakes)

How many miles/km's are on your engine? You should freshen it up. As far as the machining of the pistons, I do have a little machine shop of my own so I know a little somthing. I don't think it, to hot of a idea to machine the valve relieves in to the pistons, unless you are willing to destroy the engine as a test to see if it works. Sounds like you my be in for a long haul of expense mistakes. Any questions just ask.
