4g64 help (not another turbo thread)

ok so i have my stock 4g64 and id kind of llike to keep it that way but its in desperate need of rebuild/replacement. can anyone point me in the direction of maybe a solid replacement for a decent price? or ill just rebuild myself i guess. i just want to make this reliable and not looking to buy a $2k engine for a $700 truck.

What is wrong with your engine? Can you put up pics and detailed description of what happened. The cheapest way to go is to rebuild/repair yourself if you have tools and knowledge we at the forums can help. There is no easy way you will have to spend money nothing is for free. Remember it’s free to remove and take apart; you will be further ahead apart in the basement/garage then sitting there in the truck. Also don’t use “Mechanic in a can products” waste of money.
