Hey guys,

New to your forums, I've been building/racing DSM's for 10+ years and now I need a little help with my old beat up D50.

Bought the truck for $500 and it has an off idle stumble, anything over 10% throttle and it recovers, though feels slower than it should be.

I have never worked on a carbureted vehicle before so I am new to carbs

I picked up a carb rebuild kit from NAPA and plan on removing my carb and rebuilding it.

Do you guys have tips, links, pointers for rebuilding this carb? I am VERY mechanically inclined so it shouldn't be a problem unles some specialized tools are needed.

Any vacumn diagrams, 3d blow out views of the carb and internal components for me to look at?

Any tips would be appreciated.

The truck is only used for transporting a couple dirt bikes and hauling lumber occasionally.

Which carb. is it? I did a lot of searching on the net while working on my little truck, and I can't really tell you where I found it, but I found an exploded view of a Mikuni/Solex 32-35 carb.

I think that should get you to it. If not, type in carburetor factory and look thru their stuff.

I have found lots of stuff on the internet and save it to my favorites in a folder, but usually can't remember where I found it~

After looking at the exploded view on the rebuild instructions, and the fact the instructions lacked any detail at all, I have decided to not attempt.

I cannot even explain how horrible the instructions were, just an exploded view with internal parts listing and a disclaimer that the view might not be the particular model your working on. WTH!

I decided to purchase the webber direct conversion kit to a webber 36, using the manifold adapter. Sucks that I bought a $500 truck and needed to spend $250 for a carb. LOL

I read a thread that recommended an elcetric pump to compliment the webber carb, however funds are low at the moment and I will have to give it a go with the stock fuel pump.

Anyone have any tips for tuning the Webber 36 when I get it installed? - Truck is 100% bone stock.

I ran my stock mechanical pump with no problems when I had my weber, but it was a 32/36 progressive stock style not a 38/38? which i think is what you got, or maybe the 34?
