Get at least a 5-ton jack, 5-ton stands with a large square footing. I have Craftsman, but it was just a box at Sears.

Don't skimp on your safety by getting too small a load rating on this kind of thing.

even if im only going to be using it once in a while thats the size i should get?

i got a harbor freight alluminum one there pretty light but dont work too good on heavy trucks and they only last a year. but i beat the crap out of mine.
