I just bought a 87 mm w/ G63B and when I turn the truck on the temperature guage climbs rather rapidly, within seconds it is peaked.... Do you think that it could be a bhg or something less serious? Any help would be most appreciative..

is it actually getting that hot? feel the hoses top and bottom thats a good start. i dont think a motor can get that hot in a few seconds from being cold.

No it doesn't feel hot on the upper or lower hose... do you think it could be a sensor?? Or maybe the HG??

Definitely think you just need to change out the sensor, I think its almost impossible for it to get up to temp so quick.

Cool thanks, I do however notice maybe just condensation burning off upon startup out of the exhaust ... but I will check the sensor first...

I agree w/changing the sensor, but I'd also take a look at the oil, for a milky look, and inside the oil cap. A compression check wouldn't be a bad idea.
Run it 'till it breaks and fix it faster!
